• Pay your tuition for Basic Christian Doctrine (Fall 2023). “People have fallen into a foolish habit of speaking of theology as something heavy, humdrum, and safe. There was never anything so perilous or so exciting.” – G. K. Chesterton If G. K. Chesterton was correct, then not only is Christian Theology perilous, it is an essential endeavor. This course seeks to answer two fundamental questions about Christianity: What do Christians believe, and why do they believe it? Students will sharpen their understanding on some of the most important aspects of Christian thought: The Trinity. Incarnation. Justification. The Church. Heaven and Hell. They will study the origin of many of the fundamental beliefs of Christianity. The course also examines differences amongst Christians on some of the central issues of the faith. After taking this course, students will leave with a greater understanding of the central tenets of the Christian faith and how these ancient beliefs continue to shape our world.
